Fire alarm installation and maintenance across East Anglia
From interlinked alarms in the home to a new commercial fire alarm system, we can help you choose a sensible level of protection and look after it properly.
You will deal directly with Lloyd or Matthew. We will survey the property, explain the options in plain English and design the system around the building rather than selling you equipment you do not need.
Commercial fire alarm systems
We can design and install new fire alarm systems for shops, offices, workshops, hospitality premises and other commercial buildings. We work with wired, conventional and wireless equipment, and can also extend, repair and maintain suitable existing systems.
We are not tied to a single manufacturer or type of system. We will recommend the approach that best suits the building, the required level of protection, the timescale and the practicalities of installation.
A good fire alarm is not simply a collection of detectors. The positions, cause and effect, warning devices, escape routes and way the premises is used all matter. We take the time to understand those details before recommending a system.
Ajax EN54 wireless fire alarms
Ajax is one of the options we can offer and is often our preferred route when a completely new system is required, when cables would be difficult to route, or when an installation needs to be completed quickly with minimal interruption.
The Ajax EN54 Line is a wireless addressable fire detection and alarm system with EN 54 compliant equipment, including smoke and heat detectors, sounders and visual warning devices. It will not be the right choice for every building, so we will also discuss wired and conventional alternatives where they would provide a better result.

Less cabling and less disruption
Wireless addressable devices can greatly reduce the amount of cable that needs to be run around a finished building. That can mean a neater installation, less disturbance to walls and decoration, and less interruption to your day to day work.
Every site is different, so we will still check radio coverage, power requirements and the building layout before recommending wireless equipment. Where it is the right fit, it can be a very practical way to install or expand a commercial fire alarm.
Clear information when something happens
Addressable equipment helps identify the detector, fire zone and location involved. The Ajax control equipment provides clear system information and can notify authorised users through Ajax apps when correctly configured.
The system continuously supervises connected devices and can report faults such as a low battery, loss of communication or a detector problem. That makes it easier to spot issues and arrange attention before they are forgotten.
A system that can grow with the building
The Ajax EN54 range includes smoke and heat detection, combined detector and sounder units, separate sounders, visual alarm devices, input and output modules and wireless range extension. We can select the right mix for the premises and add protection later if the building changes.

Optional professional monitoring
The Ajax EN54 Fire Hub includes multiple communication options, including Ethernet, WiFi and mobile network connections. A correctly designed system can send detailed fire alarm and fault events to a compatible monitoring station.
Secure East can arrange optional monitoring through EMCS for suitable installations. The communication technology is built into the system, while the monitoring service itself is set up separately and carries an ongoing charge. We will explain what the monitoring station receives, who should be contacted and how the agreed response will work before anything is connected.

Fire alarm servicing and maintenance
We can maintain Ajax systems and many conventional fire alarm systems. A service normally includes checking the control equipment, testing detectors and warning devices, reviewing faults, inspecting batteries and recording the work carried out.
If the system is unfamiliar or has not been serviced for some time, we will assess it first and tell you clearly what can be maintained, what needs attention and whether any parts are obsolete. We will not recommend replacement simply because a system is older.
Weekly fire alarm testing and logbooks
For businesses that would rather not manage the routine fire alarm test themselves, we can arrange a weekly testing visit at an agreed time.

We can operate a different manual call point in sequence, check that the alarm activates and can be heard, reset the system and record the result. Where agreed, we can also check relevant linked functions and report any fault that needs further attention.
Each visit can be entered in your fire safety logbook or electronic record, including the date, time, call point used, result and any action required. This gives the responsible person a clear, consistent record of the tests carried out.
Weekly testing supports your fire safety arrangements, but it does not replace a suitable fire risk assessment, staff procedures or periodic inspection and maintenance by a competent person. We can explain the difference and agree a sensible schedule for your premises.
Domestic interlinked fire alarms
We install interlinked smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms for houses, bungalows, holiday homes and rental properties. If one alarm detects danger, the linked alarms can sound together so the warning is heard around the property.

We install Aico equipment, including suitable smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms from its domestic ranges. Aico systems can use wired or RadioLINK interconnection depending on the property and the equipment selected.
We will look at the layout and use of the home, then recommend the right type of detector for each position. Kitchens, bedrooms, landings, garages and rooms with fuel burning appliances may need different forms of detection. The final design will reflect the property and the current requirements that apply to it.
